Boasting beautiful contrast, the Capella Minor earrings are a perfect pairing with the Mira necklaces or a simple statement on their own.
Capella is the brightest star in the constellation Auriga. It is the sixth brightest in the night sky and the third brightest in the northern celestial hemisphere, after Arcturus and Vega. Capella is derived from the Latin feminine capra “goat”, hence “little she goat”. The star traditionally marks the left shoulder of the charioteer formed from the constellation. In Greek mythology, the star represented the goat Amalthea that suckled Zeus. It was this goat whose horn, after accidentally being broken off by Zeus, was transformed into the Cornucopia, or “horn of plenty”, which would be filled with whatever its owner desired.
